Roy A. Setzenfand was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The youngest of three children, he was the first in his
family to attend college. He attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, located just south of Lake Erie. In 1990, Dr. Setzenfand
graduated Cum Laude from Edinboro with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology.
year, he enrolled in medical school at Hahnemann University School of Medicine. During his years at Hahnemann, he earned several
scholarships for academic performance. He graduated from Hahnemann a member of Alpha Omega Alpha the medical honors society.
In Addition, Dr Setzenfand earned Distinguished Performance awards for outstanding academic performance in Medicine
In July of 1994, he started his residency in Internal Medicine at Allegheny General
Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He finished his residency in 1997, and successfully became a Diplomate of the American Board of
Dr Setzenfand then joined a very busy and successful private medical practice
in Pittsburgh. He worked for them until 2000, when he elected to leave to pursue a more academic oriented practice. He joined
the Clinical Faculty of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center as a clinical instructor and continued to practice primary
care in one of their satellite clinics.
After several years of Academic Medicine, Dr Setzenfand moved
to McKinney to start his own private practice. He has a sister who has lived in Fairview, TX for the past ten years. He is
excited to bring a fresh face to the medical community here. He emphasizes a personal approach to his patients, and stresses
patient education and preventative health
